Born in San Juan, Puerto Rico, Pepon Osorio moved to New York to be a social worker and became an artist. What was the inspiration behind his ornate, elaborate chandeliers?
His inspiration were elaborate and detailed cakes that his mother made.
When he was a kid, he worked with his mother when she made cakes and these cakes were professional ones with a lot of details and were highly ornate in order to look great. He helped her with this and his love for making such complex and elaborate creations was made. He used what he learned when he later started making chandeliers.
