Both Africa and the Americas were colonized by Europeans, who were drawn to the continents’ minerals and agriculture. Africa's major disadvantage was that civilians were used as farming and mining laborers. Europeans then left Africa. Alternatively, Europeans migrated to the Americas and became laborers, while also contributing to culture and government.
