The lower density magma rises through the crust to the surface. Volcanoes are formed near or above subducting zones. This happens over time on a convergent boundary . “ tectonic mountains “ are created by action and movement of the plates . But to conclude all that , mountains and seamounts are considered tectonic mountains because they’re associated with deep tectonic activity
