How can you determine the slope and the y-intercept of a line from a graph?

The y-intercept is where the line touches the y-axis and the slope can be determined with the formula of rise over run (rise/run).

So if the line goes up 3 points and over 1, then the slope is 3 (or -3 depending on if it goes left or right.)
