The treaty with Saladin allowed trade for merchants and unarmed Christian pilgrims to make pilgrimages to the Holy Land (Jerusalem), while it remained under Muslim control.He made this deal with a man named Baldwin IV of Jerussalem or most commonly known as the Leper King, with whom Saladin shared mutual respect with one another.
