For most people living in developed countries, their greatest exposure to radiation is from the natural environment.
Our planet is also a source of radiation - it's not only due to human interference. There are some radioactive materials, such as radium, thorium, uranium, etc. which are natural constituents of rock and soil. So we are constantly exposed to radiation, although in very low amounts.
