Plasma membranes, also called cell membranes or plasmalemma are the outermost covering of any cell. It is mainly composed of a lipid bilayer which has a hydrophilic head and a hydrophobic tail.
The hydrophilic head is water-loving whereas, the hydrophobic tail is water-avoiding.
