1.) He lights his pipe and sends a smoke cloud to another area
2.) He builds a trap that injures the hunter that is hunting Rainsford
3.) Rainsford jumps into the ocean from the tree to avoid being shot
He is presumed dead and the hunter goes back to his home to mourn the loss of his servant who died, when capturing Rainsford. The hunter returns to his home to find Rainsford hiding in his room.
