A cell phone plan charges a $40 base fee. If the total cost of talking 20 minutes is $41, what is the rate of change of the cost per minute talked?

40+20m=41  subtract 40 from both sides

20m=1  divide both sides by 20

m=1/20

m=5/100

m=$0.05 per minute  (5 cents per minute)
