Why did Gilman most likely choose an unreliable narrator to tell the story of "The Yellow Wallpaper"?

By making the narrator unreliable it helps support the instability of the woman who is telling the story. For the reader it makes is curious as to why this woman doesn't have a name and makes her voice more suspicious ( adding to the belief her character really is craxy).
