Brutus attributes his moodiness to Portia's suicide. Portia was Brutus's loving wife, whom he adored, and who loved him dearly. However, she committed suicide under pressure, which is something that troubled Brutus greatly. This made him quite moody and emotional, and he says that it is all because of her death.
