It is impossible to reach "absolute zero" as it would require a system containing negative amounts of energy to put the energy into. The universe must conserve entropy and by doing so without the negative system, entropy would decrease which violates the second law of thermodynamics. It is possible to approach absolute 0 but never truly reach it.
