Hello:
 the quadratic equation is : 2x²+4x-6 = 0
delta = b²-4ac
delta = 4²-4(2)(-6) =64 = 8²
x =(-4+
√64) /4 =(-4+8)/4  = 1
or   
x =(-4-√64) /4 =(-4-8)/4 = -3
