I would say that the carpenter can complete about 7 chairs. 
I say this because, first I took 30.5 from 120 and got 89.5. Then, I divided that by 12.5 and got 7.16, so Since we would want to get whole chairs completed and not portions done I said about 7.

okay, first you subtract,

Step 1: 120 - 30.5 = 89.5

Now divide,

Step 2: 89.5/12.5 = 7.16

He can make about 7 more chairs
