Why can’t you factor a sum of 2 squares?

Their sum is 0 and their product = 36. But these are irrational factors or imaginary roots. We conclude a^2+36 or the sum of two squares cannot have rational factors, or simply put, the sum of two squares cannot be factorized or factored.
