formula:

mass - moles = mass given ÷ molar mass

R.M.M of CO2 = 32 + 6 = 38

Molar mass of CO 2 = 38g (recall that r.m.m = molar mass)

38g of CO2 will produce 1 mole

therefore 12.33g will produce:

12.33÷38g (recall formula above)

answer: 0.324 moles
