Scalar quantities only have magnitude or size without pointing to any direction.
Let me explain
Speed is a scalar quantity

BUT
Speed in a northern direction is now a vector quantity

Mass is just how much I weigh so it’s scalar
BUT weight is a force and forces move in a channelled direction so weight is vector.
