Answer: they had way better technologies because of the industrialization and had way more ecological benefits then the other much less industrialization and so western stuff was so much better before the others could get to that stage so they held a massive hold on world affairs because they owned loads of money and tools they got even richer and poured more money into industrial stuff and when the other countries caught up they were already too late because the west had most the stuff and power and money.
