Step-by-step explanation: if you go from -2 to 6 you go 8 spaces. You go from -2 to 0 which is 2 spaces, and they 6 more spaces to get to 6.  If you went to -9 you are going 7 spaces.  and to 0 you go 2 spaces, and -1 you go one space. So, the furthest is positive 6.
