Write the equation in slope intercept form of a line that has a slope of 1/2 and passes through the point (-8,-4).

Slope intercept form is y=mx+b
m(slope)=1/2
(x,y)—->(-8,-4) so x=-8 and y=-4 substitute and solve for b
-4=1/2(-8)+b

-4=-4+b
+4=+4
0=b
