Use the point-slope formula.

y - y_1 = m(x - x_1)

Let m = 3

Let y_1 = 2

Let x_1 = 4

We now plug and chug.

y - 2 = 3(x - 4)

y - 2 = 3x - 12

We now isolate y.

y = 3x - 12 + 2

y = 3x - 10
