Answer:

Since they were isolated, they did not have as advanced technologies as the rest of the world (Europe, Asia). That being said, they learned how to use their land resourcefully, inventing their own farming techniques.  Their trade was not as advanced as the other cultures.

You may have to add on to this, as I took world history sophomore year.
