What is the solution of the following system of equation x +y = 2 x - y = 4

X+y=2

x-y=4

(x+y)+(x-y)= 2+4

X+y+x-y=6

2x=6

X=3

3+y=2    or 3-y=4

Y=-1

3+(-1)=2 or 3-(-1)=4
