The continuous spectrum is a band of visible colors of light. The continuous spectrum contains all the colors of all the visible wavelengths. Usually, most of the light is emitted from a single source.
Whereas a line spectrum contains only a few colors and wavelengths of the visible spectrum with gaps of the discontinuity between them. The line spectrum is usually emitted by an excited electron of an atom that is going back to its ground state.
