5 doesn't have the same variable. You can't add two terms that have different variables. Ex. : 3g+2f+5 cannot be added together.

you can't combine 2g with 5 because they don't have the same units, well 5 doesn't have a unit at all. So you will have to convert "5" to grams or grams to whatever unit 5 is.
