THE ANSWER IS -1

first, subtract the polynomials:

3x^2-7x+9-(2x^2+4x-8)

Remove parentheses

3x^2-7x-2x^2-4x+8

Combine like terms

The new polynomial is x^2-11x+17 (if you do RSM this is actually the answer to one of the fields on the HW)

Substitute for when x=2

2^2-11*2+17

Compute

4-22+17

4-5

-1

I know for a fact that the answer is -1, I entered this in myself and it was correct.
