If f(x)=2x+3 and g(x)=5x-6, what does f(g(x))= ?

f(g(x) =

put in the function g(x) in for x in the function f(x)

f(g(x) = 2(g(x)) +3

substitute 5x-6 for g(x)

       = 2 (5x-6) +3

distribute

       = 10x -12 +3

combine like terms

       = 10x-9


f(g(x) =  = 10x-9
